The Pyramid of Shallow Expertise
I call this model "The Pyramid of Shallow Expertise." It illustrates how easy it is for someone to present themselves as an expert in a given field, without anyone being able to truly notice the lack of depth.
Unfortunately, these are the methods we've started seeing frequently, not only in the Moroccan web space but even beyond. There is an explosion of live streams, podcasts, articles, events, and training sessions. The majority of these are one-directional, offering very little interaction, and most of the information shared is extremely superficial.
Who benefits the most from these? Usually, it's the person hosting them. Why? Because their primary goal is not to teach or add value, but to build a personal brand. More often than not, the endgame is to sell a course at an unreasonable price—exploiting the vulnerability and desperation of young people who are seeking a way out of poverty.
What's Missing
It has become very rare to find someone who actually shares practical, applicable knowledge—something that can genuinely help you acquire a real skill. Even more rare are interactive sessions, or at least real case studies that focus on the "how" (how to actually do something), rather than just the "what" or the "why."
And why is this the trend? Because "what" and "why" are easy. But "how" requires effort, depth, and real experience.
Real Help
To me, this is what real help looks like: when an expert gives you actionable, skill-based insights that you can actually apply. And if that expert charges a reasonable fee for such genuine value, then they truly deserve it—fair and square 👌
